Profiles in Courage Revisited

Two very different generations: one shaped by sacrifice, courage, purpose, and national leadership; the other increasingly defined by greed, money, division, and a loss of purpose.

I was fortunate to grow up benefiting from the bravery and sacrifice of the “Greatest Generation.” In my twilight years, I can only mourn how far we have fallen from their example.

  1. I agree completely. Born in ‘47 and I feel like I lived in the best of times. It is very discouraging to see what’s happening not only to the US but other countries as well. Maybe it’s my mood today, but I no longer have hope and I’m glad I’m old.

    1. While watching U.S. Senators John Kennedy and Eric Schmitt attacking Jack Smith last week, I thought what appropriate profiles in what political and moral cowardice are all apart. Smith will be viewed as a hero for what he was trying and still continues to do in pointing out the corruption of the Trump Administration. If Schmitt had done this in the 1960s or 1970’s, he would have been labeled the “dirtbag”. I try to live and remember the past as what is happening now is so disheartening and horrific. P.S. You must rid yourself of the title “old.” You appear very alert and interested in what’s going on in the world. As always, thanks for reading and corresponding!
